FDJ UNITED confirms its environmental commitment with three ISO 14001 certifications

FDJ UNITED’s facilities in London (Kindred London Limited) have renewed their ISO 14001:2015 certification, first obtained in 2023. Two other sites, in Stockholm (Kindred People AB) and Malta (Kindred Group), have also been certified. These three sites, which support the Group’s online betting and gaming operations, now have an internationally recognised Environmental Management System (EMS).

ISO 14001:2015: an international benchmark

ISO 14001:2015 is the leading international standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS). It provides a structured and adaptable framework that enables organisations to identify, manage and continuously improve their environmental impacts, while strengthening their environmental performance and regulatory compliance.

Beyond these benefits, the certification demonstrates a culture of stakeholders engagement and a commitment to addressing environmental challenges, whether local (waste management, energy consumption) or global (biodiversity, climate change, natural resources preservation).

London: a commitment in place since 2023

Certified to ISO 14001:2015 since 2023, the Group’s London site continues to strengthen and accelerate its environmental efforts. Key achievements include:

30% reduction in food waste
compared with similar organisations.
Lower energy consumption
monitored regularly and supported by concrete initiatives: installation of high-efficiency boilers, use of renewable electricity and deployment of more energy-efficient equipment.
Regular awareness campaigns
encouraging employees to switch off equipment when not in use.
Energy-saving inspections
including systematic checks of meeting rooms to ensure that lighting, air conditioning and heating are not left running unnecessarily.
LED lighting
throughout the premises.

The site also stands out for its efforts to preserve biodiversity, with the installation of beehives on the building’s rooftop.

An initiative extended to two new sites in 2026

Building on this initial success, FDJ UNITED has extended the same approach to two additional sites, both of which achieved ISO 14001:2015 certification in 2026.

In Stockholm, several initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption have been implemented. Close collaboration with suppliers also helps ensure that their practices contribute to the environmental targets set by the Group.

In Malta, the results have been particularly impressive: a benchmarking exercise shows that energy consumption at the Maltese premises is 57% lower than that of comparable organisations across Europe.

A shared environmental culture across all teams

Across all three certified sites, an induction and awareness session on environmental and sustainability issues is systematically offered to every new employee. This approach reflects the Group’s commitment to embedding environmentally responsible practices from the very start of the employee journey.

In total, more than 1,200 employees are involved in this certification-driven initiative across these three countries.

This illustrates FDJ UNITED’s commitment to firmly embedding environmental performance at the heart of its organisation across all its sites worldwide.

This certification helps us meet growing regulatory reporting requirements, improve operational efficiency and also provides a differentiating factor for customers, investors and employees who are sensitive to environmental issues.
