Six years after the adoption of the PACTE law, the majority of major French companies have defined a purpose: around 50% within the SBF 120, and this figure even exceeds 70% for CAC 40 companies. But behind these encouraging numbers, the concept of a corporate purpose still needs to prove its usefulness and authenticity. Only just over a third of French people are familiar with the concept, and among them, 63% see it primarily as a communication tool. The outlook is not much brighter among employees: a study by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) reveals that, on average, two-thirds of employees in companies that have adopted a purpose are not aware of it.
