Celebrating Women in Leadership: Kindred Group Partners with Women in Tech for Inspiring Event

On Tuesday 10th December, Kindred Group proudly partnered with Women in Tech Sweden to host ‘Game Changers’ a Women in Leadership’ event, championing inclusion, innovation, and authentic leadership. Held at Kindred’s vibrant offices, the event brought together thought leaders, trailblazers, and changemakers to explore the intersections of technology, leadership, and diversity.

The evening began with a warm welcome from Eleanor Chambers, Internal Communications Manager at Kindred Group, and Elin Eriksson, Creative Director at Women in Tech Sweden. The pair set the tone for the evening, outlining the purpose: to empower women to lead with confidence and foster meaningful connections within the tech and gaming industries.

An Inspiring Line-Up of Speakers

The event featured a compelling schedule of talks and interactive sessions, starting with Shaena Harrison, the “Professional Wing Woman.” In her session, “From Awkward Hellos to Authentic Connections,” Shaena shared practical strategies for moving beyond superficial networking to build trust-driven, meaningful relationships.

Following this, Dr Maris Catania, Chartered Psychologist and Gambling Harm Expert, provided a fascinating perspective in her talk, “Beyond the Bet: Exploring the Mind in Responsible Gambling.” She delved into the psychology behind gambling, highlighting its potential to satisfy deeper human needs—such as risk-taking, connection, and play—when approached responsibly. Her insights reflected Kindred’s commitment to innovation and social responsibility in the gaming sector.

Fireside Chat: Breaking Biases in Leadership

Guests were treated to an intimate fireside chat moderated by Eleanor Chambers. Joined by Charlotta Shelboug, Director of Product – LeCoR, and Dr Maris Catania, the discussion, “Being a ‘Good Girl’ in a Controversial Industry,” explored the challenges women face in male-dominated industries. The panel tackled societal archetypes and biases, offering empowering advice on breaking barriers, embracing authenticity, and navigating bold career moves.

Building Connections Through Interaction

The evening concluded with an interactive networking workshop led by Shaena Harrison and Stephanie Darvill, the ultimate Professional Wing Women. Participants – both in-office and online – were equipped with tools and techniques to support one another in professional spaces, redefining the traditional concept of networking. This lively session brought the room to life, reinforcing the event’s focus on collaboration and mutual empowerment.

A Partnership for Progress

This Women in Leadership event showcased the shared values of Kindred Group and Women in Tech Sweden: creating inclusive environments where individuals can thrive and lead with purpose. By collaborating on initiatives like this, both organisations aim to challenge norms, inspire change, and set a new standard for leadership across technology and beyond.

“Partnering with Women in Tech Sweden is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our shared commitment to diversity, inclusion, and fostering women in leadership. Together, we are helping to create a more equitable and innovative future” said Eleanor Chambers.

The success of this event reaffirmed Kindred’s dedication to fostering equality, inclusion, and growth in the workplace. It also highlighted the power of partnerships in driving meaningful change.

Kindred Group looks forward to continuing its collaboration with Women in Tech Sweden and expanding opportunities for women across the tech and gaming sectors. For anyone wanting to catch up on our Game Changers event, you can watch the presentations here.
